Happy 30-year anniversary, Guerrilla Girls

Posted by: Carol Strickland

The Guerrilla Girls are celebrating 30 years of service as Conscience of the art world, pointing out neglect of women artists, artists of color, and society’s neglect of marginalized people and underpaid workers. They’ve brought a lot of attention to the issue through their provocative posters, books, and tireless advocacy. Although much remains to be done, they’ve raised awareness of inequality and social injustice through visual imagery and the acerbic humor of their texts. For more images of their posters, shown at Abrons Art Center through May 15, 466 Grand Street, NY, NY
